The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russian funds to aid Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

UK penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian funds since Russia launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, money sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had exclusively been drawn from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their desire to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.

He noted that additional restrictions soon would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement comes after European Union representatives met in the Danish capital recently to debate employing frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or utilize frozen Russia's holdings, according to news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russian assets in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Leader Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the weapons procurement program

Moscow launched large-scale aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the attack, the Ukrainian government said.

In a update on social media after the strike, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack focused on civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not just talk but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing sanctions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky informed reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which Nato countries buy military equipment from the US to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he said it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the system, as well as impose further sanctions on Russia.
