The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
